Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits and to store certain information about your preferences or actions.
Cookies may be:
- Session cookies — temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies — cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
- First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting (kairos-tek.com).
- Third-party cookies — set by a domain other than the one you are visiting (for example, Google Analytics).
Similar technologies such as local storage and session storage operate in comparable ways and are covered by the same rules under this Policy.
2. Who Sets Cookies on kairos-tek.com?
This Cookie Policy applies to cookies set on the website at kairos-tek.com, operated by JCR Kairos Team Ventures LTD (trading as Kairos Tek), registration number HE 482227, Republic of Cyprus.
We use two categories of cookies: strictly necessary cookies (set automatically) and analytics cookies (set only with your consent). We do not use advertising, targeting, or social media cookies.
3. Cookies We Use
The table below lists every cookie currently set on kairos-tek.com:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Provider | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kt_cookie_consent | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted / declined analytics). Prevents the cookie banner from appearing on every page load. No personal data beyond your consent choice is stored. | Kairos Tek (first-party) | 1 year |
| _ga | Analytics (requires consent) | Google Analytics 4. Registers a unique identifier used to generate statistical data on how visitors use the Website. Used to distinguish users and sessions. | Google LLC (third-party) | 2 years |
| _ga_XXXXXXXX | Analytics (requires consent) | Google Analytics 4. Persists session state and tracks session-specific engagement data (pages viewed, events fired, session duration) for the configured GA4 property. The suffix (XXXXXXXX) corresponds to the GA4 Measurement ID. | Google LLC (third-party) | 2 years |
We update this table whenever we add, modify, or remove cookies. If you notice a discrepancy, please let us know at info@kairos-tek.com.
4. Legal Basis for Using Cookies
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended) and GDPR, we must obtain your prior consent before placing any cookies that are not strictly necessary for the Website to function.
- Strictly necessary cookies (kt_cookie_consent) — do not require your consent. They are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the Website and complying with our ePrivacy obligations by recording your consent choices. These cookies contain no tracking data.
- Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_XXXXXXXX) — placed only after you actively accept analytics cookies via our cookie consent banner. The legal basis is your explicit consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
5. How We Obtain Your Consent
When you first visit kairos-tek.com, a cookie consent banner is displayed. The banner:
- Clearly explains that we would like to use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Website.
- Provides an "Accept" button (to consent to analytics cookies) and a "Decline" or "Reject" button (to decline analytics cookies while still allowing the Website to function).
- Does not pre-tick any consent boxes or use default-on settings for analytics cookies.
- Does not place analytics cookies until you click "Accept".
Your consent is recorded in the kt_cookie_consent cookie so that the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits during the consent period. Your consent is valid for 1 year, after which the banner will be displayed again.
Consent is recorded with a timestamp and the version of the consent text shown, and can be produced in response to a regulatory enquiry.
6. How to Change or Withdraw Your Consent
You can withdraw or modify your cookie consent at any time using any of the following methods:
- Cookie Settings link — click the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page on kairos-tek.com. This will reopen the consent banner and allow you to change your preferences. Your previous choice will be overwritten immediately.
- Clear browser cookies — you can delete all cookies set by kairos-tek.com by clearing your browser's cookies. Once the
kt_cookie_consentcookie is deleted, the consent banner will reappear on your next visit. Instructions for common browsers: - Google Analytics opt-out — you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available for most major browsers.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place before withdrawal. If you decline analytics cookies, you can still use the Website normally — only non-essential data collection will be disabled.
7. Google Analytics 4 — Third-Party Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). GA4 uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use kairos-tek.com. The information generated by these cookies — including your (anonymised) IP address — is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
We have configured GA4 with the following privacy settings:
- IP anonymisation is enabled — the last octet of your IP address is masked by Google before any data is stored, so full IP addresses are never recorded.
- Consent-based activation — GA4 scripts are loaded conditionally and only fire after you have accepted analytics cookies. No GA4 data is collected on visits where analytics cookies are declined.
- Data retention — set to 14 months within Google Analytics.
- No advertising features — we do not use GA4's advertising or remarketing features. User data is not shared with Google's advertising products.
- Data sharing with Google — we have disabled the "Share data with Google" product improvement option in our GA4 settings.
Data collected by GA4 may be transferred to Google's servers in the United States. This transfer is protected by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). For more information, see our Privacy Policy — Section 7 (International Data Transfers).
You can review Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Browser Controls
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View the cookies currently stored on your device.
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies stored by a particular website.
- Block cookies from specific websites or all websites.
- Set your browser to notify you when a website attempts to place a cookie.
Please be aware that blocking or deleting all cookies (including strictly necessary ones) may affect the functionality of kairos-tek.com and other websites you visit. For example, your cookie consent preference would be reset and the banner would reappear on each visit.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising across participating websites by visiting youronlinechoices.eu (EU) or optout.networkadvertising.org (US). Note: we do not use advertising cookies, so these opt-outs are provided for general information only.
9. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. At present, there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals from browsers, but we respect your choices as expressed through our cookie consent banner. If you decline analytics cookies via the banner, no tracking will occur.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, applicable law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required, will prompt you to renew your consent via the cookie banner.
The current version of this Cookie Policy is always available at kairos-tek.com/legal/cookies.
