Who we are

Two engineers putting AI to work in European SMEs.

Kairos Tek exists for Europe's small and medium businesses (accountancies, law firms, insurers, local retailers) that have repetitive work AI can take off their hands and no reason to build a data team. What we hand over is systems running in production, not reports: automations that give hours back, processes that stop failing, and infrastructure that holds up to what their sector demands of them.

There are two of us, and that is deliberate: you work with the person who decides and the person who builds, with no layer in between. Jorge brings more than twenty-five years creating digital product at Telefónica and, in parallel, a decade answering to regulators, law enforcement and European institutions; Chus, another twenty-five taking software to production, ten of them as CTO. Kairos, in Greek, is the opportune moment: the point where a technology is ready and still gives you an edge. That is where we work.

Where we come from

More than twenty-five years of the trade each, and ten of Jorge's on ground where getting it wrong has legal consequences.

Before Kairos Tek each of us already had more than twenty-five years in this. Jorge, creating digital product at Telefónica and, in parallel, spending a decade advising the people who do not accept "nearly": Europol, the European Commission, Banco de España. Chus, taking software to production: fifteen years in the startup ecosystem and ten of them as CTO.

NevTrace

NevTrace, founded in 2015, spent ten years building systems whose results had to stand up in front of the people who would act on them: advising Europol (The Hague), the European Commission (Brussels) and Banco de España, and testifying before Spain's Congress of Deputies and Senate. Its key technical project was BRAIN, a forensics tool that followed ransomware payment trails; its findings were delivered to Spain's National Police (UIT) and Guardia Civil (GDT), and Spanish authorities invited NevTrace to present it to Europol. The ground was blockchain. What was learned on it (unreliable data, real adversaries, results you have to be able to defend) is exactly what an AI system demands today.

Recognised by Business Insider as one of Spain's most important blockchain firms, and its founder ranked among Spain's top blockchain influencers by Expansión. NevTrace also trained professionals at UCM, UPM, IE University, AFI, ESIC, and 10+ other institutions across Spain.

Loiband

Loiband, a technology consultancy co-founded and led by Jesús Lanzarote from 2010 to 2026. Jesús arrived at Loiband with a career already under way, one that today adds up to 25+ years of programming: fifteen in the startup ecosystem and ten as CTO across eight companies (eHealth, services, insurance, legal, food). At Loiband, Jesús led teams and contributed directly to design and development. This is where our ability to build production systems and close the strategy-to-execution gap comes from.

Kairos Tek

In 2025, Kairos Tek was born from the merger of NevTrace and Loiband: Jorge's decade of work under institutional scrutiny and Chus's 25+ years of engineering execution. The team was tested in competition straight away: 🥈 2nd place at MAD Hack 2025 → EasyConnect, idea to production in three months; then 🥇 1st place at Raise Your Hack 2025 → QBuild, $200K incubation and four months to production.

The combination gives something uncommon: Jorge's ten years working under external review (security, compliance, institutions) and Chus's ten as CTO taking product to production. Not theory. Not consulting. Both.

The team

Senior practitioners. No juniors.

In the same founding team you get both the person who sets the strategy and the person who builds the product: Jorge (product and AI) and Chus (engineering). You work directly with them, not an account team.

Product and AI lead at Kairos Tek, with 25+ years creating digital product at major enterprises, Telefónica among them. He now leads product and AI strategy for the SMEs Kairos advises and builds for. Running in parallel to that career is a decade of institutional credibility: as co-founder of NevTrace (2015-2025) he advised Europol, the European Commission and Banco de España, testified before Spain's Congress, and created BRAIN, a Bitcoin forensics system delivered to Europol, Spain's National Police and Guardia Civil.

Co-founder and CTO of Kairos Tek, and the person who built EasyConnect and QBuild (idea to production in three and four months, with $225K in incubation between them). 25+ years in software engineering, fifteen in the startup ecosystem and ten as CTO across eight companies, seven of them at Del Romero Abogados, a law firm where everything crossing the systems is covered by legal professional privilege. Before that, four years at the product studio Trevol building what came out of it.
